A Lafayette man and woman were arrested after allegedly being found in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia at a residence within 35 feet of Lafayette Elementary School.

Donald Harris, 47, and Jennifer Taylor, 36, each face multiple charges following the incident, which occurred on Sunday.

According to the arrest report, Lafayette Police Department officer Jason Sells was dispatched to the residence in response to a possible domestic assault. The report states that Harris and Taylor both admitted to placing their hands on one another, and that Taylor said she cut a hole in Harris' tire to keep him from leaving.

At the time of the incident, Harris allegedly admitted to possessing the following items: 2.82 grams of meth within five separate plastic baggies, an Oxycodone tablet, four used meth pipes with residue, three cut straws with residue, 10 empty plastic baggies and one digital scale. Taylor was allegedly in possession of 0.38 grams of meth.

Harris was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, manufacture, delivery, sale or possession of methamphetamines, a drug-free school zone violation, domestic violence and simple possession. His bond was set at $28,000, and his court date was slated for Nov. 21.

Taylor was charged with the manufacture, delivery, sale or possession of methamphetamine, drug-free school zone violation, domestic violence and vandalism. Her bond was set at $23,000, and her court date was slated for Nov. 21.
