A man from Mexico was arrested in Macon County after allegedly breaking a window to enter a residence and threatening the occupant with a BB gun.

Jose Rubio, 27, faces multiple charges following the incident, which took place on Oct. 25.

According to the arrest report, deputies from the Macon County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to the scene and informed that Rubio had left in a van containing multiple subjects.

Tennessee Highway Patrol Sgt. Ashley Mercer and Macon County Sheriff's Office deputy Josh Meador made contact with the vehicle and attempted a traffic stop. The driver then allegedly turned onto a small road, almost striking detective Shane Gregory and Sgt. Jacob McClard of the Macon County Sheriff's Office. The arrest report states that the driver was identified as Rubio after the vehicle stopped.

Meador then spoke with the victim, who alleged that Rubio broke out a window to the residence and brandished a black item she believed to be a gun. She also said that she attempted to leave through a back door before Rubio stopped her.

According to the arrest report, Meador also observed Rubio breaking the window, and said a black BB gun was found in the vehicle that he was driving.

Rubio was charged with kidnapping, evading arrest, aggravated burglary and two counts of aggravated assault.

His bond was set at $32,000, and his court date is slated for Wednesday.
