BOWLING GREEN, Ky. -- Former Macon County High golf standouts Zach Polston and Austin Williams helped the Cumberland University men's golf team win its second consecutive Mid-South Conference Tournament, which was held from April 23-25 at Bowling Green Country Club.

By winning the tournament, the Phoenix will receive the conference's automatic bid into the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) National Championships, which will be held from May 15-18 at Tournament Players Club (TPC) Deere Run in Silvis, Ill.

Williams -- a senior -- posted a 224 total (74-77-73) to finish in seventh place. Williams had 13 pars and two birdies in his final round, and he had three birdies in his opening round.

Polston -- a senior --produced rounds of 79, 74 and 73 to finish with a 226 total and in a tie for 10th place. Polston had two birdies and an eagle in his final round, after sinking one birdie in the opening round and two in round two.

Cumberland finished eight strokes in front of second-place University of the Cumberlands (Ky.).
