Macon County Junior High guard Hayden Wix scored a game-high 14 points in Monday evening's 48-33 loss at West Wilson Middle School.

MT. JULIET -- The Macon County Junior High boys basketball team was outscored 15-4 during the second quarter of Monday evening's 48-33 loss at West Wilson.

Behind 5 points from Hayden Wix, the Tigers trailed 10-8 after one period of play, but Dalton Hudson's 3-pointer was Macon County's only basket of the second stanza.

The Tigers trailed 25-12 by halftime, and the margin was at 30-18 entering the final period.

Wix finished with a game-high 14 points, backed by Hudson (8 points), Parker Maddox (4), Rawley Ritchie (3), Garron Cline (2) and Nate Green (2).

Zion Sanders and Braden Staten led the Wildcats offensively with 10 points each.

Ten different players scored for West Wilson.

Both teams struggled at the free-throw line, with the Wildcats connecting on 11 of 26 and Macon County converting 11 of 28.

Macon County fell to 2-7.
