Macon County High senior Gracie Andrews tips a ball over the net.

The Macon County High School volleyball team rolled to a 25-17, 25-11, 25-23 victory over visiting Greenbrier on Sept. 25.

The two teams played in Greenbrier on Sept. 6, with the Tigerettes capturing a 25-20, 16-25, 25-21, 25-16 win.

In the rematch, sophomore middle hitter Kaitlyn Driver led Macon County with a team-high 10 kills, and senior teammate Halle Shrum finished with seven kills, 10 digs and two aces.

Seniors Gracie Andrews and Brooklyn Brawner had four kills each, and Andrews had four blocks. Brawner and classmate Chelsea Avila had seven and six digs, respectively, and Avila - the team's setter - also dished out 20 assists.

Freshman libero Myle Crowder and sophomore Allie Cliburn finished with 10 and seven digs, respectively.

It was senior night as five Tigerettes - Andrews, Avila, Brawner, Shrum and Bailey Brooks - were recognized.

Macon County improved to 16-7 overall and finished in third place in District 11-AA with a 6-4 record.
