Macon County Junior High forward Rawley Ritchie scored 3 points in the Tigers’ 38-26 victory at Westmoreland on Monday evening.

WESTMORELAND - The Macon County Junior High boys basketball took control early on in Monday evening's 38-26 victory at Westmoreland.

The Tigers captured a 41-31 win over the visiting Eagles on Dec. 13.

In Monday's rematch, Macon County led 11-5 after one period of play and extended the margin to 21-7 by halftime.

Westmoreland pulled to with 29-18 entering the fourth quarter.

Hayden Wix scored 10 of his game-high 15 points in the first half for the Tigers, and teammate Dalton Hudson provided eight of his 10 points in the second half.

The rest of the scoring for Macon County (3-10) is as follows: Nate Green 7 points, Rawley Ritchie 3, Garron Cline 2 and Parker Maddox 1.

Camryn Eden scored 11 of his team-high 14 points in the third quarter for the Eagles.

• The Tigerettes weren't as fortunate, suffering a 30-19 loss to Westmoreland.

Macon County suffered a 30-24 setback in the two teams' earlier contest.

On Monday, the Lady Eagles led 10-8 after one period of play and 14-10 at halftime.

The Tigerettes (8-6) produced just one point in the third period and trailed 24-11 entering the fourth quarter.

Macon County forward Allie Thompson scored eight of her team-high 10 points in the first half.

The rest of the Tigerette scoring is as follows: Ellie Coley 3 points, Kaydance Walrond 3, Dallas Caldwell 2 and Laityn Kirby 1.

Bayleigh Norman led Westmoreland offensively with 11 points.

The Macon County squads host Smith County on Thursday evening and will conclude the regular season with games against visiting Winfree Bryant on Monday night.
