A 50-year-old woman found her pickup truck folded almost neatly in half after running off of Akersville Road on Friday and striking a tree.

Emily Peaster, a Fountain Run, KY resident, was traveling north when the accident occurred.

“Her right side tires dropped off the pavement edge,” said Trooper Tracy Donoho. “She overcorrected and travelled off the West side of Akersville Road into a field, and the truck struck a tree on the passenger side of the front. She had her seatbelt on, and I think she crawled out through the back.” Peaster was transported to Macon County General Hospital, where she was treated and released.

Responding to the scene was the Macon County Sheriff Department, Macon County Rescue, Lafayette Fire Department, and the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
