Funeral services for Ellie Lou Hooten were conducted on Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. from the Anderson & Son Funeral Home Chapel in Red Boiling Springs, TN with O’Neal Huffines officiating. Terry Hooten, Patrick Huffines, Rocky Hooten, Derrin Lane, Dale Vaughn and Mitch Delk served as Pallbearers. Interment followed in the Dodson Branch Cemetery. Ellie Lou Hooten was born on Wednesday, August 8, 1928, one of twelve siblings born to the late Pierce and Laura (Jackson) Mea. She was married to Norman Doyle “Cotton” Hooten, who preceded her in death on February 20, 2004. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Joe E. Hooten, daughter, Patty Jean Hooten, brothers, Albert, William, Raymond and Edward Mea, sisters, Mallie Dailey, Vallie Wilson, Angeline Coffee, Ida Rose Mea, Louise Stafford and Joann Mea. She was a homemaker, always taking care of her family. She would help her husband on the farm, have a garden, and loved to have all kinds of flowers. Survivors include: sons, Jimmy Hooten of Haydenburg, TN, Frankie Hooten of Whitleyville, TN, daughter, Patricia Lane of Cookeville, TN, sister, Vada Mea of Gainesboro, TN, grandchildren and spouses, Terry and Cindy Hooten of Adolphus, KY, Sheila and Patrick Huffines of Gainesboro, TN, David Lane of Cookeville, TN, Traci and Mitch Delk of Hendersonville, TN, Carlene Saucedo of Lafayette, TN, Sue Ann and Roy Lee Stafford of Haydenburg, TN, 10 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
