Comer sworn into Office

Republican James Comer, from Tompkinsville, Kentucky, recently won the First Congressional District election in Kentucky. Even though he is from Tompkinsville, Kentucky, he has many close ties to Macon County. He is the son of Dr. J. R. (Sam) Comer of Tompkinsville, Kentucky and the late Sandy Witcher Comer formerly of Red Boiling Springs. He is the grandson of the late Kenneth and Maitred Witcher of Red Boiling Springs and the late Harlin and Pauline Comer of Tompkinsville, Kentucky.

James R. Comer, Jr., better known to everyone as Jamie, was sworn in as Congressman for the First Congressional District of Kentucky in Washington D.C. with House Speaker Paul Ryan administering the oath of office. He took the oath of office on Monday, November 14th, with his wife, children and other family members attending the ceremony. During the ceremony, he used the Bible that belonged to his mother, the late Sandy Witcher Comer, for the swearing in ceremony.
