When I look at the American flag it looks very colorful and bright. It has the colors red, white and blue. It also has 50 white stars that stand for each state that is in the United States. There are 13 strips on the flag that are red and white. The strips stand for the first 13 colonies of America. The color red stands for all the blood and lose of life to make America what it is today. The color blue stands for freedom that all Americans enjoy, we are able to have this because of the soldiers that fought and gave their lives. The flag shows that all the states are united and stand by each other. When I look at the flag it makes me really happy for our freedom. It also makes me sad for all the soldiers that died and were not able to come home and enjoy what they fought to protect. The flag reminds me that when we need to America will come together and stand united. The flag stands for opportunity, we have the opportunity to make our dreams come true. When I look at the flag I realize how lucky I am to live in this free country. I am really thankful for all the people that gave their lives and that risk their live. Old Glory really means alot to me when I look at it.

The American Flag hasn’t always had 50 stars. When it was first made it only had 13 stars for the 13 colonies. Over time it has developed 50 stars.

There are certain things you should know never do with the flag. Like make clothes out of it. Never let it touch the ground. Don’t throughout a flag it shows disrespect to the U.S.A.
