The North Central P-16 Council is pleased to announce the third annual BEST (Businesses Empowering Students and Teachers) Awards.
The vision of the North Central P-16 Council is to promote the relationship between education and the value of work, develop a highly trained workforce, and create a culture of lifelong learning by positively impacting student success through awareness, advocacy, and action. The Council brings together stakeholders from the private and public sectors to accomplish those endeavors.
The BEST Award celebrates the accomplishments of community leaders and supporters, business owners, and entrepreneurs who tirelessly forge paths that initiate and reinforce improvements to strengthen connections by providing human, physical, and fiscal resources, sharing knowledge and expertise, and advocating and fostering needed improvements for student success in Pre-K through postsecondary education.
The Council will award five BEST Awards annually, one in each of the counties served by the North Central P-16 Council. Public and private businesses or individuals who work for an employer in Macon, Robertson, Sumner, Trousdale, and Wilson counties may be nominated or may self-nominate.
From the list of nominations submitted, an internal committee of North Central P-16 members will verify all eligible nominees and vote on the most deserving nominee from each of the five counties.
The recipients of the BEST Award was recognized at the October North Central P-16 Council Meeting.
Dennis Wolford, CEO at Macon County General Hospital, received this award Friday, October 14th at Vol State for Macon County.
