The Insurance Agency, now known as Tooley & Carver, was established in 1951 by Mr. Burford Tooley and his wife Alma Tooley. The first office was located on Main Street in Lafayette, TN. In 1971 Mr Burford Tooley approached Mr. Bobby J Carver with the offer of becoming a partner, at that time Bobby was the Principal at Fairlane Elementary school. After some thought Bobby decided to become a partner with Mr. Tooley, thus Tooley and Carver Insurance. Bobby bought the balance of the business in the mid-seventies. Bobby kept the name Tooley & Carver in honor of Mr. Tooley and the customers he served. Bobby J. Carver, sole proprietor of Tooley and Carver, passed away March 2, 2010 leaving the business to his sister J. Carmen Matthews. The business is now run by Carmen Matthews, son, Phillip Matthews and lots of other wonderful employees. This is a well established business with many years of caring experience.
