Routine traffic stop leads to drug arrest with over $6,600 found

A couple was arrested during a traffic stop Friday, when Trooper Johnny Rodgers discovered drug paraphernalia and large sums of cash in their vehicle.Michael David Parker Jr. was originally pulled over for failing to stop at the stop sign at Ellington Drive and Church Street in Macon County. Trooper Rodgers stated in the affidavit, “Parker was nervous and had bloodshot, watery eyes. I asked if he had anything illegal in the vehicle and he stated he did not. I asked for consent to search and he gave consent.”

 

Congressman Black visits Macon

Congressman Dianne Black visited Macon County on Tuesday, April 22. She was the guest speaker at the April Macon County Chamber of Commerce meeting.
