Rotar Club meets

By Chip Turner

At last week’s Rotary meeting author Sam Hatcher spoke to the club about his new book, “Heisman’s First Trophy”, which is about the 1916 college football game where Georgia Tech, under Coach John Heisman, beat Cumberland University by a score of 222-0. The historic game in October of 1916 was known as ‘The Game That Launched Football in the South’. The book is available on Amazon.com.

The Rotary club is a service organization devoted to projects supporting the community-at-large, including Makin’ Macon Fit, the Macon County 3rd Graders Dictionary Initiative, Boy Scouts, the Macon County High School Interact Club and the Junior High Interact Club, as well as scholarships.
