FCCLA members, Abby Behrens and Cece Cruz, recently visited Lafayette Head Start for their project, Lead to Read.

While there they had the opportunity to read to the 94 students and each of them received a handmade bookmark and two gently used books to take home. These books were donated from students at MCHS and individuals in our community. Cece and Abby will be reading to children at Lafayette Public Library on February 23rd at 5 p.m.

They will also give a small presentation to parents about the importance of reading with children at a young age. All parents and children in the community are invited to attend. Children that go will receive a goodie bag.
