Vision 2020 Inc announces scholarship in honor of two local educators

A $250 scholarship has been named for retired teachers George and Linda McCrary


Vision 2020 is honored to present a $250 scholarship named for retired teachers George and Linda McCrary. All graduating seniors from Red Boiling Springs High School are eligible to apply for the scholarship.

George and Linda McCrary graduated from Red Boiling Springs High School in 1959. They attended Tennessee Technological University, graduated in 1963, married in 1963, and began their teaching careers at Red Boiling Springs High School in 1963. They devoted their lives to educating students in Macon County, Tenn., for more than thirty years.

The McCrarys retired from teaching and still reside in Red Boiling Springs. George is President of the Macon County Retired Teachers’ Association, is a member of the Red Boiling Springs City Council and the Macon County Public Library Board. He also enjoys woodworking. Linda serves on numerous regional and national education-related boards and committees. Both are active board members for Vision 2020 Inc.

Deadline to apply for the McCrary Scholarship is April 15, 2017. Applications are available on the Vision 2020 website – www.vision2020inc.com
