Two-vehicle accident sends two to hospital

Both passengers in this 2002 Honda Accord were injured and transported to Sumner Regional Medical Center for treatment.


There was a two-vehicle accident on Wednesday, April 12, 2017, on Hwy. 10 that sent two people to the hospital.

The accident occurred at 2:55 p.m.

According to a police report, 28-year-old Jonathan Rose of Lafayette was driving a 2012 Ford F150 south on Hwy. 10 and 35-year-old Jael Vega, also of Lafayette, was travelling north in a 2002 Honda Accord when Rose’s truck crossed the center line and hit the Accord at an angle.

Both Vega and a juvenile passenger in her car were injured and transported to Sumner Regional Medical Center. Rose was not injured.

All three individuals were wearing seat belts at the time of the accident.

The investigating Trooper is Cody Ballard. According to the police report, Rose was cited for failing to exercise due care.
