Burl Wilson, 65, of Scottsville, Ky., passed away Thursday, May 11, 2017, at Macon County General Hospital in Lafayette. The Scottsville native was a farmer and member of New Salem Missionary Baptist Church where he served as Deacon for 43 years. He was a son of the late Paul Edward Wilson and Virginia Vallard Roark Wilson.
He is survived by his wife: Phyllis Wilson, Scottsville; 1 son: Bro. Eddie Wilson and wife, Candice, Scottsville; 1 daughter: Christy Vernon, Scottsville; 3 sisters: Paulette Tracy and husband, Kenneth; Carolyn Cook and husband, Gary; Beverly Burton and husband, Dennis, all of Scottsville; one brother-in-law: Robin York and wife, Rita, Scottsville; three grandchildren: Caleb Vernon, Macayla Vernon and Abigail Wilson and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Monday, May 15, 2017, at New Salem Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Tim Eaton and Bro. Jimmy Hogue officiating and burial in New Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday at Goad Funeral Home and after 8 a.m. Monday until funeral time at New Salem Missionary Baptist Church.
