MCAC to hold photo contest


Local photographers are invited to enter their work in the eighth annual “Art in Real Life”, a photography exhibition sponsored by Macon County Arts Council and Citizens Bank. The event will be held October 6 through October 12 at Citizens Bank (Main Office-Lafayette) on the By-Pass.

Photographers 18 years of age and older may enter three works in any of the following categories: People, places, nature (flowers, birds, etc.), landscapes, computer generated photos, and black and white photos. Photos should not framed; just matted with a black or white mat. Photos must be at least 5” x 7” an no larger that 11’ x 14”. No framed photos or canvas prints will be accepted. Photos must be the work of the entering photographer. A complete list of eligibility and rules are listed on the entry forms.

First, second and third place winners will be chosen in each of the six categories. First place winners will receive $25 each, second place winners $10 and a Best of Show piece will receive $100. A People’s Choice Award of $25 will be given to the photo chosen by the viewing audience. Cheree Federico, an award winning KY photographer, will judge the show.
