Illegal explosive device and drugs found during search

According to the arresting affidavits, on Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2016 the Macon County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at 2491 Old Highway 52 in Lafayette.

During the search officers found an illegal explosive device that was wrapped in gray duct tape consisting of metal and gun powder with a white fuse in the end. Other items recovered were two long guns and two hand guns which were believed to be stolen. There were also numerous amounts of drug paraphernalia discovered including: pipes, straws, and grinders – all of which are used when using or preparing illegal drugs for sale – a large bag of narcotic pills and another large bag of powdered narcotic, smoking pipes and other related items that are consistent with having drugs for the purpose of resale.

Amos John Slovacek, 30, of Lafayette, was arrested and charged with weapon: prohibited, possession of drug paraphernalia, unlawful possession of a weapon, and criminal impersonation. His court date is set for Nov. 9, 2016 with a $28,000 bond.

Justin Lea Pedigo, 25, of Red Boiling Springs, was arrested and charged with weapon: prohibited, and possession of drug paraphernalia. His court date is set for Nov. 9, 2016 with a $15,000 bond.

David Allen Lee, 23, of Westmoreland, was arrested and charged with weapon: prohibited, and possession of drug paraphernalia. His court date is set for Nov. 9, 2016 with a bond of $15,000 bond.
