Elizabeth Alred of Macon County recently received the opportunity to join other teen 4-H members in acquiring knowledge and skills as a teacher and healthy lifestyles ambassador during the 2nd annual Tennessee 4-H Healthy Lifestyles Summit, held May 28 – 30, 2013 at the Clyde M. York 4-H Center in Crossville, TN. This summit was funded by UnitedHealthcare.
While attending the summit, 4-H members enthusiastically engaged in educational workshops and activities, including ages and stages of youth development, teaching strategies, nutrition education and dietary guidelines, and fitness education. With this training, Elizabeth Alred plans to be a spokesperson for healthy living to the local elementary and middle schools and community events in Macon County. Congratulations to Elizabeth Alred for being selected to represent Macon County at this state level event and for becoming a 4-H Healthy Lifestyles Ambassador.
