After a short break, the Lafayette and Red Boiling Springs 5th and 6th grade basketball teams continued their season on December 15 by facing off with each other. The Lady Bulldogs and Bulldogs hosted the Tigerettes and Tigers at home, and the scoring summary for both games was as follows:

The momentum the 5th and 6th grade Lady Bulldogs had previously had at their last game before the short break did not show up during this game. The Lady Bulldogs could not keep up with the game that the Lady Tigers brought. The Lady Tigers outscored the Lady Bulldogs in every quarter ending the game with the Lady Tigers winning by 33 points.

1st quarter – RBS Lady Bulldogs 0 Tigerettes 19

2nd quarter – RBS Lady Bulldogs 0 Tigerettes 24

3rd quarter – RBS Lady Bulldogs 5 Tigerettes 34

Final score – RBS Lady Bulldogs 7 Tigerettes 40

Scoring for the Lady Bulldogs was #12 Kameron Clark with 3 and #13 Haley Davis with 4.

Scoring summary in boys play:

During boys’ action, the Bulldogs seemed to be a different team compared to past games. The Bulldogs really showed much improvement during this game. Although they didn’t win, they should be proud of the improvements they have made during this season. The Tigers, in the meantime, pulled out all the stops.

1st quarter – RBS Bulldogs 6 Tigers 10

2nd quarter – RBS Bulldogs 12 Tigers 24

3rd quarter – RBS Bulldogs 17 Tigers 32

Final score – RBS Bulldogs 21 Tigers 46

Scoring for the Bulldogs was #15 Hunter Kirk with 3, #11 Mason Hix with 3, #23 Tyler Humes with 3, and having a great game with 12 points was #12 Mattew Murphy.

With the close of these games, the Lady Bulldogs record stands at 2 win and 4 loses while the Bulldogs record stands at 0 wins and 6 loses. The RBS 5th and 6th grade Bulldogs will travel to Clay County on Tuesday, December 18, to take on the Bulldogs of Celina with game time at 6:00. Then once again, the teams will have a small break until their next game after the holidays. They return home on January 12 to face the Wildcats of Hermitage Springs with game time at 10:00.
