Carl Max Marsh, 72, of Pedigo-Eubank Road, Gamaliel, passed away Tuesday, May 15, 2007, at his home. He was born in Monroe Co., KY on April 21, 1935, to the late James “Jim” Marsh and Edith Dyer Marsh Pedigo. He was a member of New Liberty General Baptist Church, and had been a deacon there since 1993. He was a retired farmer, and had also worked at the Gamaliel School from 1985 to 1988. He was united in marriage on Nov. 1, 1958, in Tompkinsville to Dovie Morgan.

He is survived by his wife: Dovie Morgan Marsh of Gamaliel, KY; three sons and two daughters-in-law: Wayne and Betty Marsh of Lafayette, TN, Jimmy Marsh of Lafayette, TN, and Wyndle and Melissa Marsh of Gamaliel, KY; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Terry & Donna Marsh of Lafayette, TN and Teddy Marsh of Gallatin, TN; seven sisters and five brothers-in-law: Dean and Wyndle Yarbrough of Carthage, TN, Barbara Jean and James Hutson of Carthage, TN, Annie Faye Pedigo of Red Boiling Springs, TN, Wanda and Tim Kirby of Red Boiling Springs, TN, Joyce J. Proffitt of Scottsville, KY, Nellie and Jim Haffly of New Holland, Ohio, and Gayle and Brett Pedigo of Evansville, IN; a sister-in-law, Mary Marsh of Carthage, TN; 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Marsh, and two brothers, Junior Marsh & Ernest Marsh.

Funeral services were conducted Friday, May 18, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Strode's Gamaliel Chapel in Gamaliel, KY. Bro. Carlene Kirby and Bro. Kenny Sullivan officiated. Burial was in New Liberty Cemetery. Active pallbearers for Carl Marsh were Joe. E. Eubank, Johnny Eubank, Johnathan Marsh, Bem Bo Turner, Alvis Shockley, Jr., and Doyle Wilson. Honorary pallbearers were Christopher Marsh, Johnathan Marsh, Andrea Marsh, John Michael Marsh, Jill Slaughter, Nelson Slaughter, Derrick Slaughter, Seth Slaughter, Amanda Stafford, James Stafford, Huston Stafford, Sierra Stafford, Dalton Stafford, Sandra Trent, Trey Guinn, Chelsea Woodard, and Zachary Woodard.
