Charles Lee Carver, age 75, of Fountain Run, KY passed away on Saturday, December 31, 2011 at The Medical Center in Bowling Green, KY after a lengthy battle with cancer. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. from the Chapel of the Fountain Run Funeral Home with Brother Bobby Wood officiating.

L. C. Tabor, Charlie White, Bill Ferguson, Joe Swindle, Joe Bransford, and Clifton Bradshaw served as Honorary Pallbearers. Jeff Downing, Don Bradshaw, Joe McCullen, James Wells, Bobby Morrison, and Lanny Simmons served as Active Pallbearers. Interment followed in the Union #1 Cemetery where he was taken from the hearse at the cemetery to the grave site with a wagon and team of mules. Visitation with the family was Monday from 1 to 8 p.m. and resumed on Tuesday at 8 a.m. to service time.

The Barren County native, living all his life in the Tracy Community, was born on April 21, 1936, one of three siblings of the late Lee and Clara Inez (Jones) Carver. He was married to the former Mary Evelyn Wood in August of 1961, who preceded him in death on May 18, 1991. God blessed them with three sons. After her death, he married Joyce (Waller) Wyatt on March 5, 1994, who survives. He enjoyed farming, providing for his family, working, breaking and showing mules at many of the county and state fairs. He was often asked to judge mules at the fairs in his later years. He was known to many as the “mule man” and had broken over 100 pair of mules over the years. He was a member of the Barren County Saddle Club, sang bass in many quartets over a span of 30 years and loved to watch Kentucky basketball.

He professed his faith in Christ at an early age and was faithful in attendance at the Caney Fork Missionary Baptist Church. In addition to his wife of 17 year, sons, Jeff (Debbie) Carver of Mt. Washington, KY, Tim Carver, Temple Hill, KY, Bill (Donna) Carver, Bowling Green, KY, step-children, Ricky (Trina) Wyatt, Marilyn (Barry) Bunch, Julie (Steve) Ramey, Amy (Greg) Coomer, all of Glasgow, KY, brother, Julius (Frances) Carver of Fern Creek, KY, sister-in-law, Peggy Carver, niece, Christy Carver Williams, both of Fountain Run, KY, nephew, Cephus Carver of Grayson County, KY, aunt, Gladys Hunt of Glasgow, KY, Grandchildren, Kelsey (Mike) Ebert, Kaitlin and Shelby Carver, all of Mt.
