Last Friday, the RBS Bulldogs took on the Commanders of Friendship Christian. However, Friendship wasn’t very friendly at all, as they demolished the Bulldogs 41-0. The Bulldogs just couldn’t match up to the Commanders’ size or speed.

The game started out bad for the Bulldogs. Friendship scored on the first play of the game, running in a 50+ yard touchdown. Red Boiling would have a three and out and give the ball back to Friendship. The Commanders would score on their second play, this time passing in a 47 yard touchdown. After another three and out, RBS would recover a fumble on their own 3 yard line! However, they couldn’t make anything out of the opportunity. Friendship Christian would score one more time in this quarter, a 25 yard touchdown pass, and the score was 21-0 Friendship at the end of the first quarter.

The second quarter was, unfortunately, the same as the first quarter. Friendship would come out and run in another touchdown, and RBS couldn’t get a spark on offense. Friendship would score one more time in this quarter but would miss the extra point, which made it 34-0. After RBS made a defensive stop at their own 2 yard line, Eddie Alexander would run to the 40 yard line of Friendship, and it looked like the Dawgs were about to get back in the game! However, time wasn’t on RBS’s side, as the buzzer rang out, making it 34-0 at the half.

The second half was extremely quiet. Friendship would score again, which made it 41-0. However, that would be the only big thing that happened in the second half. There were a few miscues by both teams in this half, and RBS came close to scoring, but it seemed that the Commanders had the Dawgs number in this game. The final score ended up being 41-0.

Coach Kyle Shoulders was not available for questions after the game. The Macon County Times would also like to congratulate all Seniors on a great year playing for the Red Boiling Spring Football team, and that you succeed in all of your future endeavors! The Bulldogs have one more game this season, and that’s against the Trousdale County Yellow Jackets, a huge rivalry game. The Jackets are ripe for the picking this year, considering they haven’t been the dominating team as in the past. If the Bulldogs go into Hartsville’s stadium with a mind set to win, plus the support of all RBS fans, they will leave with a victory! Come out and support your Red Boiling Springs Bulldogs!
