Sept. 29, 1988

A 64-year old note written by school teacher B.V. Mathis was found at the Old Bottom School building as it was being torn down for materials. The letter was dae Oc.t 1, 1924 and addressed “To Whom tears down this house.”

Country singer Tom Wopat, who played Luke Hazzard on the Dukes of Hazzard was set to perform with the Girls Next Door at the Deerwood Amphitheatre in Red Boiling Springs on Sunday, Oct. 2 at 2 p.m.

A Nightmare On Elm Street 4: The Dream Master, was showing at the Macon Drive-In.

The annual Carter reunion was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ezra Carter on Sept. 25, 1977.
