Tennessee voters have continued to come in large numbers during the first days of early voting. Statewide, a total of 387,933 voters had cast their ballots leading into Monday.
“I am pleased voter turnout remains strong,” said Secretary of State Tre Hargett. “Tennessee voters continue to take advantage of the flexibility and convenience of early voting.”
In Macon County’s local ballot, record numbers have turned out to vote early—starting with the first day. Administrator of Elections Barry Doss said that by Monday we were set to pass up the total number of voters from the entire early voting period in the last election.
Total votes as of the end of the voting period on Monday, October 22 came to 1693, including absentee votes.
