Fay Randal Joines, age 86, of Lafayette, passed away Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at his residence. Funeral services for Fay Joines were conducted from the Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Red Boiling Springs, TN at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 12, 2012 with Elder J.W. Greanead officiating. Interment with military honors followed in the Smith Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers were Adam Joines, Alex Joines, Matthew Hill, Bryan Hill, Randy Joines and Steve Butler.
Fay was a member of the United States Navy, and was a veteran of World War II. He married the former Patricia Ann Nold on October 22, 1949. He worked for 31 ½ years at International Harvestor in Rock Island, Illinois and was a member of the Lafayette VFW and #1309 UAW.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Crit and Essie Compton Joines; an infant son, Michael Joines; sister, Opal Butler; and brother, Bobby Joines. In addition to Patricia Joines, his wife of 62 years, he is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Laurie and Chris Evans of Murfreesboro; son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Mileen Joines of Bourbonnais, IL; grandsons, Matthew Hill, Bryan Hill, both of Murfreesboro, Adam Joines and Alex Joines, both of Bourbonnais, IL; sisters, Edith Bean of Nashville, Bonnie “Dinky” Jenkins and Jo Knight, both of Red Boiling Springs.
