A trailer home in the Dixon Springs area of Macon County burned to the ground on Wednesday at around noon. The trailer, owned by Glen and Annette Rumble and located at 109 Boles Lane, was not occupied at the time of the fire.

“The fire was of suspicious origins,” said Cheif Keith Scruggs of the Lafayette Fire Department. “There was no electricity to it and it had been vacant for several weeks. Course, when we got there it was totally consumed. We’ve notified the owners. The guy is out trucking and the woman is living with someone here in Lafayette while he’s working, so it hasn’t been occupied for several weeks.”

Scruggs said that the Department is investigating the circumstances surrounding the fire. The trailer is a total loss, as it had been completely destroyed before emergency units arrived on the scene.
