David Kitchens
At Wednesday’s Rotary Club meeting, the guest speaker was David Kitchens, CESO (Chief Emergency Services Officer) of the American Red Cross Greater Nashville Area office. He spoke to the club about the history of the Red Cross as an organization and the five main duties it is charged with performing: Blood Services, Disaster Response, Armed Forces Support, International Services and Health & Safety Services. The American Red Cross is the only non-profit organization that operates under a congressional charter. On the local level, the Red Cross is activated by any emergency that displaces people from their place of dwelling, including fire or natural disaster. Contact them at www.redcross.org.
