There will be two Christmas parades in Macon County on Saturday, December 1, 2012.

The first, the Macon County Christmas Parade, will be in the Lafayette Square at 1 PM. Hosted by the Macon County Chamber of Commerce, the theme for this parade is “A Cartoon Christmas,” and the deadline for entering the parade ends on Thursday, November 22.

The entry fee is $10 for all units (including horses and 4-wheelers). The entry form should be turned in to Lori Jones by mail or in person at the Macon County Chamber of Commerce: Macon County Welcome Center, 685 Hwy 52 Bypass West, Lafayette, TN 37083. You may also pick up a form at any of the banks in Lafayette. Entry forms must be received before Thursday, November 22nd. Don’t be late! The line for participants begins at 11:30 AM that morning in front of Sunshine Market.

The other parade takes place at 6 PM on the same day—the Red Boiling Springs Christmas Parade. This parade is themed “Down Home Christmas,” and all entries should be decorated according to this theme. Line-up time is at 5 PM for judging. Entry forms are available at http://www.vision2020inc.com/, but you’d better hurry. Line

The parade route will begin at Nestle, head east on Hwy 52 to Hwy 52 North, circle around in Palace parking lot, then through town (Market Street), continue through historic district (Hwy151), and conclude at Thomas House.

Other rules for the RBS Parade:

*There will be no refilling of generators at any time during the parade. All floats using a generator must have working fire extinguisher on board.
