A 78-year-old man sustained a head injury late Tuesday morning when a limb fell on him while he was chopping wood in his front yard. He was life-flighted to Nashville, according to witnesses, but although the wound appeared to be bleeding profusely, the man was lucid and in stable condition. The incident occured at 2400 Smalling Ln in Lafayette.
