A semi overturned on Scottsville Road on Saturday night, spilling its load of rice bran over a portion of road and over two parked cars nearby.

A semi was traveling northbound at approximately 8:30 p.m. Saturday night, driven by Jarrod Main, 31 of Arkansas. “He was hauling a load of rice bran (an ingredient that goes in cattle feed) for Knoll Feed Transportation to Fountain Run, Ky, when its right side tires dropped off the roadway. Main attempted to get the vehicle back onto the highway which caused the vehicle to overturn, coming to rest on its passenger side and spilling the cargo,” reported State Trooper Tracy Donoho.

There were three vehicles parked in the Car Clinic parking lot where Main overturned. One was completely covered by the grain mixture and one partially covered. A large wrecker from Newberry’s Towing was used to set the vehicle back upright and a backhoe and dump truck was used to clean up the grain.

No one was injured in the accident and no charges were filed.
