Last Monday, the Macon County Tigerettes took on the Station Camp Lady Bison. The Tigerettes had already clinched the number one seed in the division, so this game didn’t matter to them. The Tigerettes took it easy and lost 71-54. They had the lead for only 4 minutes of the first quarter.

The first quarter was close. Station Camp put up twenty points, while the Tigerettes scored seventeen. The second quarter, much like the first, was very close. Station Camp came out and put up sixteen in the second quarter of play. The Tigerettes put up thirteen. The score at halftime was 36-30 Station Camp.

The third quarter was all Station Camp. Station Camp came out after halftime and scored twenty-one points in the third quarter. Station Camp would also score fourteen in the fourth quarter, all while holding Macon County to twelve points in both quarters. The final score was Station Camp 71, Macon County 54.

Kailyn Brooks led the Tigerettes in scoring with 12 points. Kelsey Gregory had 10. Terra Pryor had nine points. Briley Driver had six. Reese Shrum, Lyndsey Belton, and Leah Anderson had four points each. Marisa Owens and Whitney Wilburn each had two.

District Tourney vs. Westmoreland

The Tigerettes’ next game was in the District Tournament against Westmoreland at Vol State. Now that the Tigerettes had had a rest against Station Camp, they were ready to do battle against the Lady Eagles. Westmoreland found themselves at the wrong place at the wrong time, and the Tigerettes dominated Westmoreland both offensively and defenseivly. Macon County won their first District game 56-30.

The first half was all Macon County. The Tigerettes scored fifteen points in the first quarter. They also held Westmoreland to only four points. The second quarter was much of the same. The Tigerettes scored twenty-one points in the second quarter. Westmoreland only scored nine. The score at halftime was 36-13.

The second half was closer, but Macon County still dominated. The third quarter was slow, as both teams scored only five points. However, Macon County scored fifteen in the fourth, while Westmoreland scored twelve. The final score was Macon County 56, Westmoreland 30.

No Westmoreland players scored double digits in this game. Terra Pryor scored twelve points, which led the team. Kailyn Brooks had 10 points. Leah Anderson had nine points. Kelsey Gregory had seven points, Lyndsey Belton scored six, and Briley Driver scored five. Whitney Wilburn had four. Reese Shrum had three.

The Tigerettes next District game was Monday, February 18 against Sycamore. Coverage next week.
