Tigerettes vs. Greenbrier

On Tuesday, January 8th, the Macon County Tigerettes traveled to Greenbrier to take on the Greenbrier Lady Bobcats. The Lady Bobcats picked a bad night to come out to their own gym. The Tigerettes completely dominated the Lady Bobcats, beating them by an incredible 51 points. The final score was 78-27 Tigerettes!

The first quarter began the domination. The Tigerettes came out hot. Hotter than the entire community has seen in a long time. The Tigerettes dominated in the paint and beyond the arc. Kelsey Gregory didn’t seem to miss. The Tigerettes led 20-4 after the first quarter. The second quarter was when the Tigerettes really turned up the heat. The Tigerettes scored an unimaginable 36 points in the second quarter alone! That’s 9 more points than Greenbrier had the entire game! The entire Macon County team dominated. The score after two quarters of play was Macon County 56, Greenbrier 16!

In the second half, the Tigerettes slowed down their offense. The victory was already assured, but the Tigerettes didn’t let up until the fourth quarter. Macon County scored 17 points in the third quarter, while holding Greenbrier to only 8 points. The score after three quarters was 73-24. The Tigerettes emptied their bench in the fourth quarter and actually looked halfway human. They only scored five points. However, the defense held Greeenbrier to three points. The final score was 78-27.

The Tigerettes had 10 three-pointers in the game. Kelsey Gregory had five of the ten and led the Tigerettes in scoring with 19 points. Kailyn Brooks also had a three in this game. Brooks ended with 14 points. Terra Pryor had 11 points in this game. Leah Anderson and Whitney Wilburn had 7 points. Briley Driver had 6 points. Tigerettes vs. Sycamore

The Tigerettes’ next game was Friday, January 11 against Sycamore. It was Homecoming for Macon County. The Tigerettes were hoping to dominate the Sycamore Lady Eagles. They easily did so, ending the game with 64-22. The Tigerettes played great defense and great offense!

In the first quarter, the Lady Eagles actually looked like they would put up a fight. If the Tigerettes scored, the Lady Eagles would go down the court and score, too. The score after the first quarter was 18-14 Macon County. However, the second quarter was when Macon County began stomping on Sycamore. The Tigerettes went on a 21-2 throughout the quarter. The score at halftime was 39-16 Macon County.

The second half was even worse for the Lady Eagles. The Lady Eagles had three points in both the third and fourth quarter. The Tigerettes’ defense proved they were a rock. The Tigerettes scored 25 points in the half. The Tigerettes won the game 64-22.

Terra Pryor led the Tigerettes in scoring with 16 points. Pryor had two threes. Kailyn Brooks had 13 points. Kelsey Gregory had 10 points. Reese Shrum came off the bench with 9 points.
