Nestlé Waters was named the Large Business of the Year by the Macon County Chamber of Commerce for 2012. The plant, which processes and packages bottled drinking water under the brand Nestlé PureLife, came to Red Boiling Springs in 2001. They began full-time production in 2004, upon completion of the plant’s construction, just off of Hwy 52.
Currently, the Nestlé Waters Macon County Plant employs 68 full time workers on the plant floor and in its offices. During the summer, they run production lines 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and in the other seasons they scale back to day shifts.
“Nestlé Waters has always been committed to being a good citizen here in Macon County,” said Tony Dexter, Plant Manager. “So it is gratifying to see our work recognized by the Chamber through this award. On behalf of our employees, thank you.”
