The Macon County Arts Council has just finished the installation of a 12-ft by 16-ft mural on Lafayette Square.

The art project was funded by the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee through a private donation, and completed by local artist Linda Johnson.

The mural, which has been hung on the side of Cathy’s Florist, depicts Union Camp Falls in ten paint colors. It was done in six pieces. Local teen volunteers donated at least 24 hours total of time, putting a second coat of paint over Johnson’s first coat.

A mural dedication will be held in May (more information to come).
