A car drove into the window of Bray’s Family Restaurant last Thursday when its brakes failed, according to Red Boiling Springs police. Mr. Annie D. Phillips, 72, had gone to visit his wife in the nursing home and was headed to pick up a meal, when his breaks failed:
“Mr. Phillips had been down to the nursing home visiting his wife, and was apparently coming up the Brays’ restaurant to pick up some lunch for them,” said RBS Police Officer Jimmy Morgan. “And when he turned in there in front of the restaurant and stepped on his breaks, they hit the floor—he didn’t have no breaks—and he went right through the front.
“Nobody was injured at all, other than the damage to the building, and there was very little damage to the car, believe it or not. It had just a few dents in it.”
Bray’s is located at 699 Lafayette Road in Red Boiling Springs.
