Before enjoying the holidays, the RBS Bulldogs were busy at the All A’s Shootout Tournament at Monticello, KY. During this tournament, they played three games, but unfortunately came up short all three games, not placing in the tournament.
Scoring Summary in Game 1 vs. Monticello on December 20th:
First quarter- RBS Bulldogs 10 Monticello 7
Second quarter-RBS Bulldogs 18 Monticello 14
Third quarter- RBS Bulldogs 28 Monticello 34

According to Bulldog Coach Michael Owens, the Bulldogs played one of their best games during this tournament. For once, in a long time, the Bulldogs finally had a full bench. They went in at halftime actually leading their opponent, which is a feat they have rarely seen this season. They continued their high momentum after the second half. They were outscored by Monticello in the third quarter by 10 points. The Bulldogs held their own during the fourth quarter and was only outscored by two. They held their loss to 8 points which is a season record. As in games past, turnovers were high, but were matched by their opponents as well. From the two point range the Bulldogs attempted a whopping 41 shots but only made 6 of those for a percentage of 14.6. They shot 14 three pointers, hitting 3 of them, for 21.4%. The Bulldogs went to the free throw line 34 times. Of the 34 free throws, they hit 21 for 61.6% accuracy at the line. The Bulldogs had a total of 24 turnovers while Monticello had 23. The Bulldogs faced Lynn Camp during the second game of the tournament. The momentum from the day’s previous game did not carry over. The Bulldogs shot a total of 18 two pointers and hit 6 of them for 33.3%. From the three point arc they shot 20 times but only successfully hit two of them for 10% accuracy. The Bulldogs shot 9 free throws and hit 6 of those for 66.7%. Individual stats for this game were:

And rounding out the stats was #23 Ty Tuck with 6 points, 5 rebounds, 4 deflections, and 1 assist.
Scoring Summary in Game 3 vs. Eminence on December 22th:

Third quarter- RBS Bulldogs 11 Eminence 54

During the last and final game of the tournament, the stress and weariness of the 3 day tournament seemed to have taken its toll on the Bulldogs. During the first quarter, the Bulldogs were only able to score 2 points to their opponents 24 points. When the second quarter came around, the Bulldogs scored 7, but that was no match for Eminence’s 16 points in the second. For the rest of the game, the Bulldogs just weren’t able to find the basket. They only scored 2 points in the third quarter and two points in the fourth quarter. They attempted 20 two point baskets. They hit 4 of those attempts for 20%. Nine three pointers were launched up, but unfortunately, none of them went in. The Bulldogs went to the free throw line 11 times. They were able to make 5 of those for 45.5%. The Bulldogs enjoyed a few days off during the holidays but was back at it shortly after. They participated in the Nera White Tournament in Lafayette on December 27, 28, and 29th. Game summaries for this tournament with appear in the next edition of the Macon County Times. The Bulldogs return to normal season play on Friday, January 4, when they host Trousdale County with game time at 6:00.
