Macon County High School’s new head football coach was announced Monday. Nathan Wilson, who served as head coach at Macon County Jr. High for six years, and has taught math for five years in Macon County, will be replacing Coach Randall Smith, beginning with the spring semester.
Smith is applying for another position in another county, but will finish out the school year teaching PE at MCHS.
Wilson applied for the position in October, when it was advertised, and after completing the interview process, was finally informed of his appointment on Monday morning, December 17.
“I’m just appreciative of the opportunity to be in the position,” said Wilson. “Looking forward to coming in and doing all we can to get better- go to work.”
Wilson lives in Lafayette with his wife of 10 years, Sonya, and their three children, Logan, Katie, and Luke.
