Couple found dead in home in Red Boiling Springs
by Kelly Rich
Reporter

The Macon County Sheriff’s Department was dispatched to Red Boiling Springs on Thursday morning when two people were found deceased in their home.

A neighbor of Edo S. Kirby, age 76, and Dennis H. Kirby, age 71, called and reported that they had gone to the home located at 5177 Oak Grove Road and discovered Edo and Dennis Kirby with gunshot wounds.

The Sheriff’s office arrived with RBSPD and Macon County EMS and discovered that both Mr. and Mrs. Kirby were deceased. “Through the investigation and talking with family, evidence showed that Dennis shot Edo and then turned the gun upon himself and took his own life,” said Macon County Sheriff Mark Gammons.

The Macon County Times will follow this story and update as more information is released.
