The Macon County High School Theatre Department put on its 1st Annual Christmas Extravaganza Saturday, December 8. It was postponed a week due to the closing of Macon schools.

The first half of the show consisted of a single-act play called Jingle Bells Jury, featuring a cast of colorful Christmas characters and a very merry court case. After intermission, were musical performances by Kailey Holland, Kaylee Case, Kara Case, Cassidy Baughn, and the Macon Singers, led by director Jerry Monds and accompanied by Hannah Centers. Rebekah Norfleet, senior at MCHS and dance student of Mrs. Cindy Stinson, performed a dance piece to Breath of Heaven by Amy Grant.

The two-year-old community choir has a full Christmas concert scheduled for Saturday, December 15, 2012 at 7:00 PM in the MCHS auditorium.

Before the start of the 2013 Red Boiling Springs commencement, the graduating seniors took a moment to gather around a special memorial at Red Boiling Springs High School to say a prayer for a fellow classmate. This memorial at RBSHS is a tree that was planted in the memory of Brandon Tidwell. Brandon would have been a 2013 graduate of RBSHS but his life was tragically cut short, at age 15, in an accidental shooting on June 7, 2010.
