A man was killed instantly after his van crossed the center line and crashed into another vehicle on Hwy 52 Tuesday afternoon. A Lafayette man was thrown from his vehicle and killed in a one vehicle accident on Union Camp Road Monday. Joey Russell, age 45, was driving west in a 2001 white Dodge pickup. Weather conditions forced TVA to postpone their outage at the Hartsville Substation that was originally scheduled for Saturday night April 27th. TVA has rescheduled the first outage for Saturday night, May 4th beginning at 11:59 p.m. This outage is to remove the damaged switch on their transmission line. Ground broken for library expansion
Community leaders gathered at the library in Lafayette on Monday to break ground on the expansion project that has been years in the making. The project includes expanded square footage, new roof, and added parking lot space.
