Lafayette man thrown, killed in truck accident
A Lafayette man was thrown from his vehicle and killed in a one vehicle accident on Union Camp Road Monday. Joey Russell, age 45, was driving west in a 2001 white Dodge pickup. He traveled off the right side of the road and struck a driveway at about 1461 Union Camp Road. Traffic stop, home visit leads to drug arrests
The Lafayette and Red Boiling Springs Police Departments each made drug arrests this week, one following a routine traffic stop and the other during a home visit from the Department of Children’s Services. A man was arrested in Macon County this week for a trailer theft that occurred back in February. Casey Wayne Looper, 29, of 8559 Old Hwy 52 Westmoreland, was charged by Lafayette Police with one count of theft over $1,000 and by the Macon Sheriff Department with three counts of unlawful possession of stolen property and one count of theft over $1,000.
