Students pass LiFE finance exam
A large group of MCHS Personal Finance students recently passed Citizens Bank’s LiFE Program. Mrs. Gose, Mrs. Hix, and Mr. Williston are also pictured. The Life Program is a 10-module computer course that Citizens Bank purchased for both of Macon high schools, to assist in the Personal Finance classes. Rotary Club activity
At last week’s Rotary Club meeting Mike Whittemore and Brenda Coley auctioned off items to help support the Rotary Golf Tournament, which was held Sat., May 18. The Red Boiling Springs Class of 2013 held its Senior Awards night this past Tuesday, May 14, 2013. During the night attendees were treated to a presentation of awards and scholarships, class history of the class of 2013, class wills, class gifts, and class prophecies. Ruede and Powell win RBS Lions Club Award

Before the start of the 2013 Red Boiling Springs commencement, the graduating seniors took a moment to gather around a special memorial at Red Boiling Springs High School to say a prayer for a fellow classmate. This memorial at RBSHS is a tree that was planted in the memory of Brandon Tidwell. Brandon would have been a 2013 graduate of RBSHS but his life was tragically cut short, at age 15, in an accidental shooting on June 7, 2010.

Clark Lumber celebrates four safe months
Clark Lumber in Lafayette held a lunch for their employees on Wednesday, celebrating four months without a single lost man hour due to injury. Employees received free lunch, caps and t-shirts and were treated to a giveaway prize drawing for a grill, a tv, a dartboard, and more. Whitley receives Makin’ Scholarship
The Wellness Committee of Makin’ Macon Fit announced this year’s recipient of the Makin’ Macon Fit Scholarship Wednesday. Chelsey Lane Whitley will receive $1,000 out of money raised through the annual Makin’ Macon Fit event. Recipients of this award must be going into a health related field, and are further narrowed down based on grades, need, and overall qualification.

MCHS FCCLA holds final meeting of year
On May 7th, Macon County High School FCCLA met for their final meeting of the 2012-2013 school year. At this meeting we discussed our fundraisers and National Leadership Conference on July 7th through 11th. We then had our annual ice cream sudae celebration honoring our outgoing seniors. We also installed our 2013-2014 officers.
