Macon County contines to succeed

On Tuesday, November 15, the Macon County High School Tiger basketball team claimed victory over Gordonsville High School at home by a score of 57-51. Individual scores were Riley Phillips 21, Cameron Welch 13, Heston King 8, Dalton Marsh 8, Michael Ashburn 5, and Kendrick Carter 2.

On Friday, November 18, the Tigers claimed another victory over Jackson County High School on the road by a score of 74-57. Individual scores were Michael Ashburn 21, Riley Phillips 15, Cole Carnahan 11, Heston King 10, Seth Carlisle 8, Kendrick Carter 5, Dalton Marsh 4, and Cameron Welch 2.

On Tuesday, November 22, the Tigers claimed another victory over Trousdale County High School at home by a score of 84-36. Individual scores were Michael Ashburn 18, Riley Phillips 13, Seth Carlisle 9, Kendrick Carter 9, Cameron Welch 7, Clay West 6, Heston King 6, Kelton Ballou 6, Trent Cook 5, and Dalton Marsh 5.

On Friday, December 2, the Tigers claimed their first District win over York Institute at home by a score of 64-51. Individual scores were Michael Ashburn 17, Kendrick Carter 10, Seth Carlisle 8, Riley Phillips 8, Cameron Welch 8, Dalton Marsh 6, Cole Carnahan 6, and Trent Cook 1.

The Tigerettes also claimed victory over York Institute on Friday, December 2 by a score of 56-36. Individual scores were Kyndal Bullington 16, Keeley Carter 14, Jenna Russell 9, Jamie Ashburn 5, Mattie Goolsby 5, Luci Allen 4, and McKaylee Mix 3. “Our intensity level was up! We put a lot of pressure on them defensively, and got them shook up! We played awesome as a team,” said Assistant Coach Courtney Cherry.

Both the Tigers and Tigerettes have an overall record of 4-0 and a District record of 1-0. Upcoming games: Tuesday, December 6, at home against District opponent Livingston Academy; Friday, December 9, at District opponent Smith County; Saturday, December 10, at Westmoreland; Tuesday, December 13, at District opponent Central Magnet; and Friday, December 16, at home against Clay County. All of these games will tip off at 6:00pm.
