RBSHS Girls Place Second in Clinton County Tournament

The Red Boiling Springs High School Lady Bulldogs traveled to Albany, Kentucky for the Clinton County, KY Tournament. The girls took on Franklin Simpson first.

Katie Heady was the top scorer for the Dawgs during this game with 17 points. Kennedy Fleming had twelve points, six of those coming from two three-pointers. Cayley Tuck had nine points for the Bulldogs. The girls had 28 total rebounds during the game. The team prevailed over Franklin Simpson, 43 to 36.

Heady was again the top scorer in the next matchup against Clinton County with 16 total points. Tuck and Fleming each had seven during the game, Hayley Davis scored five for the Bulldogs, Shaylee Ellingson scored three, and Maggie Isenberg scored two. The team had a combined total of 26 fouls and 31 rebounds. It was during this game that Tuck, who is a senior, scored the 1,000th point of her career. Tuck only needed six points during the game and said she was “very aware” of what she needed to get. Tuck said, “as I made that shot one of the most exhilarating feelings came over me. I was so excited to be able to accomplish something like that. I couldn’t have accomplished that without the support from my team and fans.” However, despite their best efforts, the Lady Bulldogs fell to Clinton County, 40 to 43.

In their last game of the tournament, the Lady Dawgs went head to head with North Laurel. Tuck and Fleming tied for the top scorer this time with twelve total points each. Heady had eight points during the game, Ellingson scored seven, and Tamra Murphy had three points. The girls had 36 rebounds during the game. Unfortunately, the Dawgs suffered a loss against North Laurel, 44 to 60.

The Lady Bulldogs came in second in the tournament.
