Red Boiling Springs takes on Watertown and Goodpasture

The Red Boiling Springs Bulldogs had a busy week at home last week. On Tuesday, January 24th, the teams faced off with the Watertown Purple Tigers.

The ladies took the floor first on Tuesday. Cayley Tuck was the top scorer both for her team and for the game. Tuck had six two-point shots and was six for six in free throws, totaling 18 points. Kennedy Fleming and Shaylee Ellingson both scored eleven for the Lady Dawgs. Fleming had a two-point shot and three three-point shots. Ellingson had a two, two threes, and three free throws.

Hailey Davis put six points on the board for the Lady Dawgs. Davis had two three-point shots. Maggie Isenburg added three points from three free throws and Macy Raines scored a two.

The Lady Bulldogs defeated the Purple Tigers, 51 to 33.

Next up were the boys. Elijah Byfield was the top scorer for the team in this game. Byfield had eight twos totaling 16 points. Jordan Powell and Mason Hix each put eleven points on the board for the Bulldogs. Powell had five two-point shots and a free throw. Hix had four two-point shots and a three.

Matthew Murphy scored five for the boys, coming from a two and a three. Dustin Bergdorff and James Simpson also added five for the Bulldogs. Bergdorff had a two-point shot and a three-point shot, Simpson had a two and four free throws. Kendall Thompson scored a two for the team.

Despite their hard work, the Bulldogs fell to the Purple Tigers, 55 to 79.

Friday, January 27th, saw Goodpasture Christian travel to Red Boiling Springs to take on the Bulldogs.

Davis was the top scorer for this game for the girls. She had a two, three three-point shots, and three free throws for a total of 14 points. Fleming had three twos, a three, and a free throw, totaling ten points. Tuck put nine points on the board, coming from three two-point shots and three free throws.

Ellingson had two two-point shots and two free throws for a total of six points for the Lady Dawgs. Isenberg added a three and two free throws, totaling five points. Raines added two to the board from two free throws.

The Lady Dawgs, for the second time that week, finished on top, beating Goodpasture Christian, 46 to 38.

The boys took the floor immediately after the girls for their chance to face Goodpasture Christian. Powell was the top scorer for the team in this game. Powell put three twos and six free throws on the board for a total of twelve points. Byfield added nine from a two, a three, and four free throws.

James Simpson scored a three for the boys. Matthew Murphy, Hunter Kirk, Mason Hix, and Dalton Thompson each scored a two during the game.

Red Boiling Springs lost to Goodpasture Christian, 32 to 62.
