Macon Count High School recently honored Chance Hayes Presley 17, of Lafayette, as he was presented with the Lindsey Wilson Golf Scholarship for college. Chance Presley, son of Van and Chandel Presley of Lafayette, has attended MCHS since the 9th grade. Chance started playing golf in his sophomore year, and later went on to win district champs for 3 years, 2014, 2015, and 2016. He also assisted the golf team in winning the regional championship twice. Chance and the golf team made 4th in state twice in the in both 2014 and 2016. Chance has received awards for both district and region for the last two years. The entire golf team consists of Bryson Smith, Jake Reeves, Jacob Phelps, and Carson Roddy. Chance is excited to start Lindsey Wilson in the fall, where he looks forward to be working closely with Head Coach Eric Wyrick. Chance anticipates rising to the same success as Chelsey Coley, who currently holds numerous records at Lindsey Wilson Golf Division.
Coach Beverly Shoulders is very proud of Chance and the hard work that he has put in. She hopes that he continues to strive for his dreams and goals of becoming a pro golfer. Coach Shoulders also gave a special thank you to Chance’s parents, of whom she stated that the entire administration could not do this without their help. Shoulders also gave a big thank you to MCHS, for enabling Chance to accomplish his goal of winning this scholarship, as well as encouraging him to pursue his education to achieve success as a pro golfer.
