Funeral services for William (Bill) Dorris, age 67, of Pleasant Grove Road in Westmoreland, TN were held Tuesday, August 20, 2002 at 4:00 pm from the New Hope Church in West-moreland, with Bro. Johnny Carver and Bro. Sid Durham officiating. Tony Bentle, Steve Coates, Donnie Cannon, Ed McWhirter, Tim Patterson and Kelsey Carver served as pallbearers. Burial was at Pleasant Grove Cemetery.

William (Bill) Dorris passed away August 18, 2002 at Sumner Regional Medical Center.

The Westmoreland, Tennessee native was born October 5, 1934, a son of the late Charles Dorris and Nova Gammons Dorris. He was retired from Pirelli Tire Corporation and was a member of New Hope Church. He was married to Dean Dorris of Westmoreland, Tennessee.

Survivors besides his wife include a son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Deborah Dorris of Chicago, IL; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sheila and Doug McKay of Lebanon, TN and Pam and William Perry of Westmoreland; three brothers, Eugene Dorris and Davis Dorris of Westmoreland, and Frank Dorris of Alexandria, VA; two sisters, Virginia Gilliam of Westmoreland, TN and Diane McMurtry of Tampa, FL; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one sister, Eunice Law.
